Jessica Anderson

Master's Student

Jessica is a master’s student in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and started her undergraduate training in nursing, graduating with an Honours Degree in Psychology.

Her academic and professional experiences have provided an understanding of how social, systemic, and relational factors influence well-being. Jessica’s prior research and community work have included projects with the Legacy of Hope Foundation, where she worked on developing the national K–12 curriculum to support knowledge mobilization on Indigenous ways of knowing, intergenerational trauma, and the long-term impacts of colonization across Canada.

Through her work with Tap Elderly Women’s Wisdom for Youth, she has supported program development for community-based mental health clinics in Dar es Saleem, Tanzania, to expand access to critical mental health services for youth. Jessica is interested in further understanding how access to supportive services, culturally responsive practices, and structural conditions influence pathways to care, continuity of services, and psychosocial outcomes for youth and young adults with disabilities.
