Kevin Yu

PhD Student (ABA)

Kevin completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Neuroscience and Behaviour at McMaster University, followed by a Master of Education in Developmental Psychology at the University of Toronto and a Master of Arts in Applied Disability Studies with a specialization in Applied Behaviour Analysis at Brock University. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Behaviour Analysis at Brock University.

Kevin’s work focuses on identifying and reinforcing individual strengths within everyday interactions. His master’s thesis explored how supporting caregivers in recognizing the strengths of their autistic children may improve parenting competence, strengthen parent-child relationships, and promote more sustainable, positive family dynamics. More recently, his research has extended to supervisory and organizational contexts, examining how strengths-based approaches can be integrated within behaviour analytic practice to enhance outcomes for service providers and autistic children.
